How do i fight someone who never comes in and is always circling? Should i try to cut them off the entire fight or is it only a matter of me getting in fast enough and getting off with punches

I am very new to this and could be wrong.

If it were me I would move how he moves.

If he goes left I would follow him, trying to stop him circling around me as well as moving forward. At this rate you have to back him into the ropes or corner and then let fly.

If he moves around alot he might not like getting hit to much, back him in a corner and let fly shake him up a bit.

I could be very wron having no experence myself, just my thought.

Well when im sparring, thats how i usually am. Tall, i throw a jab maybe a right combo, and then move out and circle. It tires the other person down and confuses them. A good guy will usually cut me off at the ropes and corner me.

It becomes a chess match for position. Somebody who is good at it can be a pain in the ass all night. What makes it worse is when they can add up the points while running. I lost a bout like this. I had a hard time cutting him off. At times I'd corner him and get him up against the ropes, but unfortunately in amateur boxing my agresiveness didn't count for more than how many times the white of my gloves touched his scoring area in all the judges eyes.
I rocked the hell out of him when I caught him though.
Your footwork has to be exceptional. Following him wouldn't be the best bet. He'll read that and have you chasing him all night. **** the hell out of his ribs and mid section everytime you get a chance to do so. Soon if you play your card right he'll drop his hands wont be able to run and well lights out.

if he tries to circle to your left you move left to meet him you should not try and follow him around the ring unless you are confident in your footowork

you want to shuffle to keep him close as he evades and give him lots of foward pressure. IMO frazier was onwe of thwe bwest at this check out his first battle against ali

You need to work on your foot speed so you can cut him off.....

not only foot speed, someone circling will wait for you to slip up while chasing them and thats when you get slapped with a hook and then its just worse from there. Just be careful and try to cut them off, anticipating where they will go also helps becaues u can catch them with a nice outside hook if they are dropping their hands a ltitlte low.
