Do plenty of roadwork. Stick and move with occasional hard punches for respect purposes. Unless he can't hit....then fight him at close quarters.

some people ive sparred against come straight in head down with hands surroundin their head, so what i do is an uppercut to the body or a left then right hook to the body. if they just come in all out then as most of the other lads have suggested throw a 1,2 or even paw him off with the left

Best thing I've seen done against the cover-and-walk was brutally simple, but really devious. Your typical walk-in looks like Roy Jones' gloves-up elbows-down defense, but moving forward. I saw a guy prevent it every time by jabbing high on the top of his opponents' gloves/head, and when his chin came up, right uppercut under the elbows. It was monstrous.

i sometimes like to take a step back, as hes moving into the space i created i move forward and hit him with a straight right, him walking in and u throwing at the same time hurts more hehe

I just keep on swinging leather, everytime I try and think "I am going to do this and that", it never works.

Realistically, you have to hit hard enough to earn his respect so he won't walk in quite so quick. Lean in with a head butt, and lift up under his chin. Grab and tackle him. Anything to discourage him. What can they do? Give you a warning or take a point? If you don't get him off, you will be steamrolled anyway.....
