Arguably indeed... You don't work out legs, arms, core, etc. during running? You might want to try it sometime, you'll get smarter!

Jump rope is different than running, not better.

I'm well aware of what Running does...I didn't say that running doesn't also work out your arms, legs, and core did I?

I was saying that Jump Rope works out your arms, legs, and core...On a SEPERATE NOTE Jump Rope is arguabley as good or better then running...Jump Rope is less strenous then running and therefore you can do it longer in turn your burning more...Also you can do more "tricks" with the jumprope to make it better....

Now before you go saying that you can do different things with running, I know... with running you can do dashes, and sprint in intervals, run sideways, backwards, etc.....

        In short to both...

Well, you can always claim you didn't SAY running doesn't work out the legs, arms, core. You certainly IMPLIED it though. You started out stating that jump rope is arguably better than running. Usually, when someone makes a statement (especially one like that), the following will be argumentation as to why this statement is true.

If the sentences following the statement in your first post weren't arguments as to why the statement was true, are the statements after you repeat it in your latest post unrelated as well?

I'd also like to question your claim that jumping rope is less strenuous and therefore you can burn more. Jump rope doesn't have to be less strenuous, you can certainly make it a lot harder than , say running at a slow pace. Conversely, you can also run at a much higher intensity, than a few rounds of light skipping. (Edit: Case in point: jump rope is DIFFERENT, NOT better)

Now, the claim that you burn more (I assume we're talking energy, as in calories?) because you "can go longer." Hmmmm.... go longer than what? Are you aware that there are people who can run 100 kilometres in 6 hours?
And why would you want to skip for a really long time anyway? Most people have other things to do, than train all day.
Besides, if you can do one thing longer than the other, it is because the intensity is lower. At lower intensity, you burn less per time unit, than you do at high intensity + at high intensity your metabolism will continue to be high for hours after. You CANNOT guarantee to burn more, just from going longer, unless the intensity is the same. If the intensity is the same, your endurance will be the same.
Running high intensity intervals for 30 minutes, will almost surely burn more energy, than skipping rope at low intensity for 60 minutes. Why would you want to skip rope for 2 hours, anyway?
And the tricks really don't matter in all that, unless they up the intensity

this is pretty basic stuff, and quite frankly, it's kind of annoying to have to explain it all from scratch. You should probably go read a few books on training theory and physiology before you give out too much advice on stuff you don't really know about. That is how training myths start...

            lmao get em

Its my opinion that jumping rope besides its obvious cardio benifits, Is a good exersize to improve coordination between your hands and feet. A necessary function in boxing. Please don't give advice that compares it to running. As one may mistake one can superseed the other. You should have both in your workout routine. Thank you

Well, TysonK.O., do some skipping and chances are you will find out you are not as good at it as Tyson. With practise you might improve.
