Gloves: Ounce for Ounce

Oz. for oz., which gloves, in your opinion, hurt most to get hit by? My vote goes to the Everlast Professional, the $80 ones. Two guys at my gym have new pairs of these in 16 oz for sparring, and they have some serious thump and sting, way more than other 16 oz. gloves that I've been slugged with. I've sparred against both of these guys with their old gloves, and now the new ones, and the new ones hurt way more. The leather is stiff and hard and kind of pebbled, like the outside of a football.

Reyes aren't fun to get hit by, either. But the guys at my gym who use Reyes all hit pretty good already -- you don't shell out that kind of money unless you've been boxing for awhile.

I'd say Reyes, I used to use them to spar, Cut a few guys bad. And I know a pair of Reyes everytime I get hit with one. Those everlasts are like rocks to, I just baught a pair cuz my Grants are getting worn out, Don't have the mula for another pair of those and already have some titles to I went with the 14oz everlasts. Look out

I've only ever been hit with one shot that had me absolutely ****ed. It was a left hook and I got hit with it about a year ago by a good friend of mine, who was around 85kg at the time I think. I was like 64kg and he hit me with a massive left hook that swivelled my headgeard and took it straight off almost. My trainer stepped in, asked me if I was ok and fixed the headguard. I wasn't but I said "yeah im fine, could you just fix this though". He did and we continued. But let me tell you, the split second after I got hit with that shot I felt like I was taken completely off the floor and for my whole time in the air I was dazed, then my feet hit the canvas and I regained control, but in reality I was just standing there dazed for a nano second and then I was ok.

The gloves he hit me with were Rupla 14 or 16 oz sparring gloves.

there's this autistic (i think anyways, the guy's ****ing weird) guy at my gym who sparred me wearing like these old ass 8 or 10 oz 1940's lookin everlast gloves. ouch.
