just wondering how many hours do you think is good enough for training at the gym. I usually go 3-4 times a week and stay for 2 hrs at the most.

i dont go to a boxing gym anymore but when i did, i was there for an hour...

at home now..i workout for 1.5-2 hours...

some people say 45-60 minutes should be the limit, but i think 2 hours is enough...

more than that, you're not working as good as you would because ur so tired

In my opinion ten hours in a week would do for an amateur. I preach time and time again to spend a little more time, but you would probably do fine at that rate. Then increasing the time there toward a fight or tournement, and tapering it off some immediatly prior to the event.

I got the gym 4days a week 2 hours a day but i also run and do workouts at my house so i prob do 12-13 hours a week.

For the pros this may be incorrect but don't most pros split their training up?

THey run in the morning take a break then around lunch do skipping/shadowboxing and at night agwork/sparrin (not in this order just an example)

Yeah I'm not pro yet, "semi" I do road work and endurance training from 3:30am to 6 or so bicycle to work and from there to the gym after that its skills training, 10rnds sparring and ride home. Its some times 8 hrs a day good thing my job is sit down stuff. I go sometimes 8 hrs in a day. I'll admit due to a dissapointing turn of events my training has tapered off to about 2hrs 3-4 times a week for the last month. But that is the kind of work ethic you need to be used to for professional fighting. It wasn't everyday just mon wed fri. strength train tue thur. Sat was for some odds and ends aerobics footwork and shadow boxing mostly

it's not how long you train, but how hard.
even short sessions will be productive if you go all out
