    What is the fastest way to get in fight shape? Just wondering what you guys think because I slid a little and I gotta get back in shape fast. Thanks.

      When I have a fight coming up I step up the anaerobics and aerobic parts of my training and stop using weights, Aerobics because aerobic training uses fat as an energy source better than anaerobic training. I change my diet up a little too. Not so much carbs. NO Sugars of course. and plenty of protiene. I train for the equivelent of how many rounds I am going to fight plus 5, I go twice a day sparring at least once a day. If I can I make sure a fresh guy is there to spar with every round or two. If you had slipped you have to make up the time by not only training harder, but smarter. I sujest some research on improving your cardio and endurance rapidly. Good luck. Idealy you wouild want to peak your training a week before the fight and taper it off some from then leading up to the fight. If you don't have the time for that kind of preperation, at least give your body a couple of days to recoup.

        to get in FIGHTING shape, you have to spar...to get in shape, just run with long distance and sprints

              Training for 100% fitness is a very delicate process and should not be rushed. Vigorous training can build you up but can also break you down if taken too far. How do you know how far to take it? That is something that comes with experience. The basics of fitness and nutrition apply to everybody however pushing yourself to the extreme edge of fitness is an idiosyncratic process which must necessarily be tailermade for the individual. What works for one guy may not work for the other. Judging from my observation of young boxers, peaking out only lasts about 3 or 4 days at the most, then the cycle must be repeated. Both Joe Louis and Ray Robinson mention it in their autobiographies.
