  • night mare amature comp coming up i think i may lose freinds

theres a comp cumming up for 11 clubs and mine is included the only problem in my clube there is 4 people at 57 wich mean the chances are i am gonna have to meet one of my freinds i think its ****** doing this but i think i am gonna move up weight because one of the guys at 57 is my cuz the other 3 are good freinds and we all spar and it was one of those guys that got me into boxing at 59 theres only 1 guy from my club so i think i,ll move up there.
any body else think i should just go for it at my natural weight all the trainers want me to.

Just do what suits you, but beating or losing to a friend may effect your relationship in some way, i myself would stay at a weight i feel comfortable at and what i think i'll do best in.

Just remember once you get in that ring no matter who you are fighting you are going in there to win, once that bell goes forget about who they are just think of them as another opponent, im sure they want to win as much as you do so go for it.

    Danny Green vs Jason DeLisle
"I’m looking forward to it. We’re pretty good mates outside the ring and we’re both pretty good characters inside the ring as we both like to let ‘em go and there’ll be no respect shown once the bell goes."

Just give it your all, fight clean, and then when that last bell rings, give them a hug and tell them it was nothing personal. Guys from my gym who had to fight each other last week went out for beers afterwards, bruises, busted lips, and all.

like the other guys said stay at the weight ur used to give it your all and if they're your true friends it shouldn't affect anything. As long as its a clean fight there shouldn't be any beefs accept some bragn rights. Hell me and my friends box all the time at 100% just for fun and they will also give me tips on what i was doin wrong and i do the same for the same. Don't sweat it and don't hold back just do your best and laugh about it later!!!!!!!!!

at my old gym, whenever i sparred my friends we always gave each other bloddy noses and bruises and stuff...its boxing...when im in the ring, its just another person to me.

if you lose your friendship because you win or something, then its not a good friendship to begin with

I have in the past faught friends and training partners even my little bro once before he went down in weight. We faught a lot while growing up for fun so that wasnt so bad it was a laugh more than anything. The point is You and your friend both want to compete. Its a chance you take. And it is not somthing you need to take personal. You can fight and celebrate later. "don't gloat"

id definitely stay at your natural weight. you've just have to make a real distinction in your mind between the ring and the rest. find your on off switch, fight clean and you'll have good fun and a talking point between you and your mates.

hey the comp,s on sunday i have decieded to stay at my natural weight 57 but i just found out that one of my best mate,s the guy that got me into boxing amature has moved up weight to avoid me and his other friends i also dont want to sound ****y but i,m glad because i think i could have really hurt him because when we spar i never go to his body because he has the weakest body i have ever come across one left to the body can really hurt the guy and i think he knows if he fought any of the guys from owr club we would all stop him with body shots but apart from that he,s real good great speed.
