You should have just pinned him on the ropes and keep him there, but after reviewing the video, one time you did pin him on the ropes you slipped due to the shoes.

You need to start throwing more straight punchs and hitting the body. I would get a bit rougher with your opponet, you got strength you should use it.

Did the gloves feel like pellows? And were you surprised you couldn't stop your opponet?

And why did you guys only fight 1 minute rounds?

Also when i viewed the video a second time I noticed when you were squared up is when you started slipping when blocking his punchs.

Your opponet how many fights did he have, he was a bit calm under pressure im sure he has a few fights.

Good job, Corey - now go and buy some shoes.

naw he didnt stun me what so ever,he did hit me with a good punch that made me go back then all the slipping begin once again.ahaha.and i wasnt surprised i couldnt stop him cause i couldnt get leverage on my punch's so i was like oh well.and i dont know how many fights he had.and im square when i throw shots cause i have power in both hands so it doesnt matter.and yeah the gloves did feel light as hell,12oz gloves

Versatile, props for posting that my friend. Your performance was excellent for somebody with no previous bouts behind them. I just feel for you, you did all that training and lost on a schoolboy error at the last hurdle... old shoes.

Next time I know you'll get him again, and put him out in 1 or 2. On the bright side you slipped well and unloaded when you had the chance. On the bad side you forgot to throw when he was hitting you with flurries in the second. Judges hate that, ill tell you right now. So yeah, when he was hitting you stand up and be counted and start throwing back... the judges see it as a more of an equal trade than a one sided beating. Especially since you slipped after one of his flurries and it looked like he knocked you down legit.

Take a good story from my gym in. A boy in my gym lost his amateur debut to a boy from Repton ABC, which is one of the best gyms in the UK at this moment. We reckon he got robbed, but thats irrelevant. He went back and done that same boy easily 2nd time round, about 2 weeks ago. Fought him yesterday again, as a final rematch and beat him again. So now he is 2-1 (0 KO's). Lets hope you can do something like that in the future.

        Good luck.

Man, you looked GOOD in that first round.

Can't wait to see you with the shoe problem solved. The good news is, you saved us all from making that mistake in the future. Thanks, man.

Now we understand WHY you don't throw 100% when sparring. You'd run out of sparring partners real fast.

That did look bad, Was it all the shoes or did the ring have one of those ****ty canvases? I know I've faught in rings where the canvas seemed like a ice rink or somthing. Tuf break though, Put it behind you The hard part is to get over it for the next time you fight. "not to think about it too much"
              You'll be straight though.
