how to get big thighs by natural bodyweight excersises

    Hi !

Is it really possible to build up huge legs by doin roadwork ( 3-5 miles each morning ) and working on the stationary bike at high resistance ?

I dont wont to do weight-lifting for building my legs up , since my knees are a little bad plus squats make my butt big hehe

    thanks a lot

You're out of luck. Roadwork and stationary bike won't get your legs any bigger. If anything, the roadwork will make your legs slimmer.

So for huge legs, you're gonna want to do weights, and eat of course.

How oare your knees bad, that you can run, but can't do squats? Proper squats will strengthen your knees! Unless you've got arthritis or something? But in that case, you can't run either.

      Bike please.

I use my bike every single day and my legs are massive.

You can do one legged squats called pistols which will build your legs up nicely.

maybe i'm doing those squats not properly , i will ask my trainer how to do them correct ... but squatting makes the butt bigger , does'n it ? so it wouldn't make any difference , if i do them in the regular way or one legged ?

          @Rky_Marshymllow :

what distances do you ride daily ?

          thanks for your help

            10 miles+

For the past 3 days I have done that. I posted my training regime up here somewhere... you can find it if you like. I have just replaced the interval runs with 10+ mile bikeride to see how that goes. Something tells me the running is gonna be more beneficial even though its only about 4 miles.

If your gonna bike it, add some resistance and go up hills. Thats what I do and my legs have grown quick.

Squatting doesn't necessarily make your butt bigger. It actually made mine smaller. My legs, however, have gotten bigger from squats and cleans, especially my upper thighs. I've had to throw out several pairs of underwear 'cuz they were cutting into my legs.

Everybody has different genetics. Your mileage may vary.

Besides, your ass isn't a legal target in boxing, so what does it matter if it's big, as long as it gets you around the ring fast?

Pistols are great, but if he can't do regular squats, there's no chance in hell he can do pistols...

Biking and long distance running will do little for a gain of mass, which is what I am interpreting as "getting bigger"
I will note that bigger is not necessarily what you should be trying to achieve if you are a boxer. More powerful is the key, not sacrificing speed and endurance. Flexability is also vital.
Squats do work your glutes. (butt) but it's not gonna get BIG. You will see gaines in your quadrecepts primarily. Lunges and Cleans are also great. (you don't necessarily need weights either) There are a lot of explosive exersizes like burpess you could try, however if your knees are shot you might not want to try those. Stair climbing works to. Anaerobic exertion is the goal. Be creative.
