get your abs strong if you're boxing guys that much bigger than you, reason being the stronger your abs the more effective youll be able to slip shots.explosive situps.

when shadowboxing, practice slipping to your left, and skipping in with a left hook. im guessing you have a good left hook if you have a good left uppercut.

if all fails you could just fight cheesy, tie your man up repeatedly and he'll keep pushing you off him if you fight better on the inside than he does...When he keeps doing this his shots will be weaker and him, much more tired.

yea... but the real problem is the reach difference when ever i try to get inside they just start jabbing and dance away

"squarecircle" is usually the expert when it comes to this stuff so i cant give much pointers. it might not be the most interessting way to wear an opponent down but clinch the man quite a bit to get him into the rythm of it then after a good few quickly push off and slip in a left to the body to bring him down or at least wind him. have a friend throw a few punches at you (not full scale, a bit slow) then get into the habbit of expecting punches so that your awareness becomes more focused and sharp then tell him to speed up the punches (when you feel your ready, have him wear gloves). use that in your next fight so that you know when a punch is comin and can side-step it and lay in an uppercut or hook (whatever feels more natural.) thats all the advice i can think of up. i hope it helps mate

thats where the body shot comes in. like i said build your awareness so that you can parry the jabs and slip inside

Hey, Nate. I'm short for my weight class, too -- 5'9" 175 lbs. I weave a lot, feint a lot, and use a peekaboo style. Feints -- fake punches -- are my gold in the bank. Fake him out to get him moving, and then slip in and nail him.

There was a kid on here posting under the name of "Exige." He posted a vid of him shadowboxing and he had some sweet moves that I've incorporated -- the main one that comes to mind is engaging and disengaging at a 45-degree angle, instead of rushing straight in and out. You can probably search for his posts on here and if the vid is still up and you can find it, check it out.

Work on getting a strong and very fast jab. So you can slip the punches and use your jab to get inside.
