Tommorow I'm going to my 2nd gym. My first gym was ok, but it was far away from my house and the coaches there made you cut way too much weight for the national tournaments. I've decided to switch over to a rival gym which is closer and seems to be a much better atmosphere. I feel kind of bad for it, but i figuire i should look out for whats best for me especially this early on. Has anyone else here swtiched gym? Any1 switched more than once?

I'm on my second gym also. Don't feel guilty for moving gyms, it's for your benefit and you'll know if you made the right choice later on. My first gym was only a short walk away from where I live but it didn't have the right atmosphere in order to bring the best fighter out of me.
The gym I have now is quite a hefty drive away but it is well worth it. It is what a "true" boxing gym should be and the trainers and atmosphere have helped me of late.

I've been at a fewgyms over the years, both as a trainer and as a boxer. Boxing's an individual sport. You have to do what's best for yourself. As a trainer, I try not to get offended if someone would rather train somewhere else. Not that it's happened a lot.

I'm at my first and I don't think I'll be able to change it for a while.
It's only 10 minutes away walking and I could go to a better gym maybe 45 minutes away but next year and other HS years, I'm gonna be working to hard on SAT's and HSPA's and stuff so I can't spend all my time training in a fartehr away gym.

I spent over 5 years at my first gym, all through secondary school, then I moved out of the area and a fair way away so had no choice but to find another gym. I had one close to my home and began to frequent that, but it took me only about 3 months to realize it wasn't what I was looking for. I've been at my third gym now for around 20 months, and I have no intentions of leaving anytime soon. If it wasn't for moving house I'd likely still be a member of that first gym.

I think switching gym is something good because you could have many ideas and improve in many parts.
For example on gym is specialized in counter and another in power and another in speed.
but if you in a competition dont try to chang to much
