  • Lots of Training Help Needed

I'm playing Golf starting in April, possibly basketball starting in late December, joining a boxing gym in the summer(so I'm not the only one on here who doesn't know Mayweather from Ali), and playing football next year starting in middle August. That's as far as we need to get into that.

I'm 190lb, 5'9, and have pretty solid legs and moderate arms. I ride a bike everyday, so the legs will come along by themselves, but I was wondering, what would you all recommend me to do so that I'm in decent shape for all of these sports by that aforementioned sports respective season with having to do only a little toning to get ready. It was hell going from one sport to another last year because for football I had to get all beefed up and then for basketball I had to gain some endurance just to lose it over power when golf came.

What do you think would be the most effective way to stay in shape for all the sports without going through hell and back during the 2 week transitions we have between sports?

I dont quite understand your question but by the sound of it, you are playing sports that conflict with each other. Football you need to get beefed for and then basketball and boxing you are basically gonna need to be thin for. You cant do it. The best thing to do is to stay thin, dont bulk up just for football, but get strong being small. So you can check up on cross-training and plyometric exercises to stay small but build power still. You wont be able to function properly if you look like Swarzenegger, other than in football.

Another tip, if you wanna build stamina (I dunno if you was asking about that) but dont just run. Combine it with bike riding and swimming for example. Both of those are low intensity for the rest days, but still provide excellent cardio gains. So run one dya then bike it, then swim it. Your muscles will have a chance to recover properly.

Does this help or is it totally unrelated?

Since you're 190 lbs. and 5'9'', you really aren't then small, so you won't be playing positions like point guard, shooting guard, and for football, they make you use weights no matter what the position is with a ****ty routine...

Pick your favorite sport and train directly for that...

Damnit. Football and Golf it is. Golf it really doesn't matter what build I am, and I want to play football as well, so I guess I can just lose another 30 lbs, put on some muscle, golf, box in the summer, and then play FB or LB this year.
