Even for experienced guys it’s good to go back over the basics to help you sharpen up.
Also I have had old or cheap new gloves leave me blisters in weird spots. If you are broke sometimes a bit of “Moleskin” on the effected knuckle can help till you get a better pair.
Bending your wrist slightly inward? Please explain......Rockin'

I am not explaining it clearly, of course it’s easier in person.

If you look here at Hopkins right hand here his wrist is slightly bend inward this is what I mean.

I was taught to hold your hands this way it’s more stable for punching and helps your land with better power.

That is not my fist... just a stock photo from google that i circled in the location i was referring to.

You might have to take a break from hitting the bags. It's the only way a bruise is going to heal. Don't punch anymore, just do cardio and strength training for a month.

I will also say, it sounds like you aren't making a good fist.

I won't say you don't know how to make a fist, you are just making a bad fist.

            • Try laying your fingers flat against your palm.
            • Slide them up against your skin until you get a that roll of meat under your fingers.
            • Then fold your thumb over. (don't worry about getting your fingers super tight or close to the knuckle)

What you should get is a fist with the problem knuckle aligned flat; it shouldn't protrude.

Your fist shouldn't feel very tight either. It should feel like a loose fist. Don't worry about it, it's a structurally sound fist and you should be able to tense your fist when needed, it just won't feel as tight as before.

If that doesn't work. Use the method above but adjust your fingers until it lays in line with the rest. When it is in line, that is how you will have to make a fist from now on.

Otherwise you might just have a deformed knuckle/finger, whether naturally or through injury.

That's my opinion. (without seeing your hand in person)

I see. So a know nothin' tells the forum not to listen to me. If that is the case than who should they listen to? There are others who know the art, but should they listen to you? You have never posted any advice in this forum because you know nothing of the art.

Who'd you ever throw punches with? Who did you ever fight? The answer is you've thrown fists with nobody and you have never fought anybody.

Truely, what do you know about boxing besides who beat who?

And point out where ANY of my advice in this forum that I have given was wrong or not on point.

You know nothing about me or my fighting. But at least I was in there doing it. Where were you?
