    You're saying that doing deadlifts won't get you strong lats? The deadlift works the most muscles.

    Lats, neck, trapz, lower back, hamstrings, forearms, middle back. if you feel it only in your lower back you must have a weak lower back.

    Explain to me why the biggest deadlifters have the biggest backs?

      Deadlifts mostly works out the lower back, foo. Think about it...its an isolated action. You are not moving the upperback in any way...how are you strengthening it?

        The lockout of a deadlift is basically a rack pull which works the upper back so hard. Again, why are the biggest deadlifters the ones with the biggest backs?

            Not really. But it's really good for stretches since it has those rods and whatever.
