you gotta do it baby, just train your mind to think "theres no other option"

literally, i found my form on running about a YEAR after i started. its a great feeling when you start to run and your knees don't hurt (cuz your hunched over forward too far), your breathing doesn't hurt (because you've learned to breathe with your stomach, instead of your chest) and when you get that runners high ... nothing better dude, nada.

Just for the record, no one "has" to run to develope good cardio health and endurance. Its simple fact. What HAS to be done to accomplish the goal of "get better with cardio" and "build endurance" is simple: You HAVE to have a basis of consistency. If you decide you are NOT going to run, fine. Pick another exercise or two and do them JUST as often as you would run. Same duration, same intensity, etc. There are several other exercises that burn MORE calories than running and have less joint shock if your form isn't perfect. Now, If you don't run and someone else does, will they be in better cardio health than you? Maybe, but a LOT of how you benefit from cardio comes from your body type. Consistency is the key.

I guess you can play football (or soccer for you yanks).
If you can play a good game for 90min then you can run miles.

Or play basketball for 3 hours.
