sparred the same guy again today. when i went to the water fountain all the little black kids followed me back into the gym . they knew we were about to spar. They're like 'You bout to spar?' im like yea.. round one starts, i feel him out throw some feingts throw a jab to his body and it lands flush on some un flexed abs. then i throw another feignt and land a soft jab upstairs. He presses in, I back up and move to my right. I feignt a right hand and miss a left hook and barely dodge a straight right counter from him. Then, all of a sudden i saw him comign towards me and I stepped in with a big jab. BAM, his mouthpiece popped out. not really violently, but it popped out and fell on the ground and dude was like 'damn' . it was a thing of beauty, really, to have done that with a well placed jab, it hit him right on the chin. really wish i coulda had that on tape for you guys and myself, to watch. End of the first round came, in the second round he caught me with a left hook when I was rollin out to my left, so it was a really soft shot. He caught me with a big body shot though, hardest body punch ive ever been hit with in my life. I grimaced when the shot hit me and told him good punch as i backed off moving to regain my composure. It wasn't really that painful though,i thought I took it well. It was a big shot tho. I always give up my body defensively and put all my effort into protecting my chin. I landed about 10 more jabs. 3 of em bein big jabs, and the round ended. i coulda went another round honestly but i was tired as hell and didnt want to get caught with a big punch. im not goin 3 with that guy til my stamina gets better.he hits real hard on the inside and is good at skippin in and poppin off hooks...When im tired im so much slower, i definately woulda gotten hit. My stamina is gettin better by the day tho. came home and ran my ass off, felt like a million bucks, full of confidence. it's great to excel in your passion. I felt like garbage when I got beat by that other guy though. the match was somewhat close but he caught me stepping in with a nice right hook that I didn't see coming and it hurt my jaw. my jaw still hurts from that, but I wasn't hurt from the punch equalibrium wise. i just wasnt clenching on my piece when i got caught. And he took me into the 3rd and I started doin ****** **** like droppin my hands, lol. Anyways, thought id post it b4 i roll out for work for you other boxin junkies.

O yea, after I sparred the champ yesterday he sparred a pro named Tiger Taylor , who's 14-9. Massive dude, told me he benches 400. can fight southpaw or conventional, and he can slug and has a decent jab..Dude's in shape, tells me he runs 8 miles on the days he decides to run and he doesnt have much fat on him at all...I believe him. The 05 champ won the first, but lost the last two rounds, quittin in the 3rd due to absorbing lots of punishment on the inside via uppercut /hook....He ate a big straight left hand to the nose and quit and started bitchin at the coach for makin him run and spar me before sparrin the pro. i understood his anger and had sympathy for him. we're friends and ****, i went and got him some napkins for his nose.really didnt think he belonged in there with that pro, what the **** was my coach thinking.

why you always bringing up the race thing at your gym bro i hate that ****. Your white, thats great but you dont need to say all the little black kids followed me and all that.

By the way i dont believe any of this stuff you say. I dont know why but i just dont, you seem to try and go to much into detail and are trying to make yourdelf seem great. Just dont buy it.

Lol at "all the little black kids followed me back into the gym"

I agree withSouza though, you go into lots of detail to make yourself feel like the best.

You should go the extra rounds no matter how tired you make think you feel. In the end with the experiance you gain it will be very valuable.

And i think your team-mate is whinning too much. I think every boxer has gotten his ass kicked and you live and learn. Its how you get better sparring tough sparring partners.

I honestly don't see anything wrong with what squarcirle was describing, hes white so hes a bit surprised they care about him sparring. He just saying imo that though hes white they are now showing him respect. I don't think he was trying to sound like he is bad, cause imo his sparring didn't impress me. But sparring is sparring and aint nothing wrong with sparring.

I've never lied about anything on here but im sure this will seem like a lie especially to people who hate me like gbp. but **** it, you guys love boxing and so do I so im gonna tell you what happened to me yesterday!

aight, i was supposed to spar a tougher guy than the last guy i sparred. this guy cory, from new orleans. not sure of his record but i asked him to come in tommarrow since i didnt have a mouthpiece on monday, and he didn't show up yesterday, after I had butterflies all day long anticipating our sparring...cuz the guy hits pretty hard. Turns out the only other heavyweight there for me to spar was the toughest guy in the gym, the star of the gym

keenen hickman, 30-6, 2005 southern association champion. Now, I'm not sure exactly what that means but im guessing he's the best outta florida, louisiana, and mississippi. at least thats what I hope :-)...Anyway, my coach was like 'you gonna get in the ring with him' and i was nervous , but I hid the fear and just said 'aight' like it wasnt **** and started workin on my shadowboxing as to not enter the ring dry/cold/not warmed up

first thing I did when the bell rung was keep my distance and pack down his jab, feignt a right hand and jab to his body, then step off to my right away from his big right hand. This cat's pretty short about 6" but 230lbs and has lots of power, great punching form too. That's why I didn't stand in front of him even tho im 265lb 6 ft 4.

First of all let me explain somethin, i must be a natural to this sport because I felt like I did my homework on this guy. I was anticipating every single thing he was doing and moving away from it, countering with jabs when he'd come in shifting his weight towards me. I am being completely honest when I tell you that in two rounds of boxing this dude didn't catch me in the head one single time, the only shot he caught me with was a blocked straight right on my cheek, basically zero impact, and a straight right to my heart, and some body shots that didnt even hurt since i was moving away when he got off. It was like once I identified the angles the shots were coming from it made it SO EASY to just pack down his shots, or throw off his rhythm by stickin my glove out in anticipation of what he was about to throw, moving, then feignting with my right to make him think and coming with a big jab to his midsection, or if he's moving forward, straight to his face. I never practiced this move I kept doing but it involved me lunging forward with my head down and to the right, but I was safe because my lead left hand was in a motion of touching his left glove /shoulder and moving it so he couldnt get set to counter me. in this same motion I'd come forward with a HUGE right hook to his left oblique. I was only able to land this big shot once, after that I kept trying to do it he would slide off to his right, in fact he almost caught me with a big right hook counter to my jaw after i missed the right hook to his body, I **** you not I slipped that shot sooo barely I felt the glove graze my chin/mouth and said , 'Close one' with a smile as we kept sparrin. im a ****in natural i tell ya... every time i would **** up and miss with a big punch(which was rare since i never came forward with power punches, and just capitalized off his mistakes and picked angles with my best tool, the jab) id just move away/back up super quickly and keep my guard up and he wasnt able to do anythig..

im not playin, you shoulda seen some of the jabs i was catchin this cat with. his entire skull would jolt back when he would come in with his weight and id stick that full force jab out, ****ing larry holmes style. it was like he couldve gotten in on the inside and destroyed me but just a little bit of movement to my right and throwing a lightning jab at the right time prevented that ****, ya know?

and when the end of the round came and I was sorta tired, he pressured me and to deal with that I mixed up some feignts to scare him away so i could take a breath, since he respected the power in my right hand, and the left jab.. I mixed jabs in with the feingts, allowin me to not only steal his 'end of the round' opportunity from him, giving me the round, but give myself some wind.

The 2nd round went pretty much identically to the first one except I got tired as hell, but I coulda went a 3rd round. my stamina sucks and im a little overweight still. I really promise that the next time I spar I'm bringing a video camera because if you guys wouldve seen me in there workin him over picking him apart without takin a single shot you'd be proud...My coach definately was, considering that guy is his top fighter. 'You did damn good today, especially for a whiteboy' is what he told me...felt really good, i think i can really go far in this sport if I can handle the 05 southern champ without a single fight under my belt, im gonna dedicate myself to boxing 110% from now on, no smoking, im gonna focus, buckle down and really work hard......You'll see more of me in the future fellas.
                  good on ya.
                  i spar with

I don't see why peopole feel the need to brag about sparring experiences. It's not like they've really accomplished anything.
