Nice body shots. I was mostly paying attention to what you were doing specifically but looked like he only got maybe 3 good clean power shots on you.

He was tough, definitely didn't show that the body shots were hurting him, and I was hitting him clean and with power on some of those shots.
However those did ultimately add up, causing him to start to slow down, which set up that knockout punch when he was trying to trade with me in that 3rd rd.
Usually when someone falls forward like he did off the ropes in the 2nd, they stop the fight, but the bell did ring ending the round so I can understand maybe why they didn't. I thought about trying to end it before the end of the rd, but knew that I had won it since I got the knockdown.

Cong**** bro.
Good one.
Rec'd some more straight punching to face ala Ali vs Williams.
Do they teach or tell you to go on one knee till opponent gets up?
All the best. But most importantly if you ever feel dizzy or strange, STOP. Live to fight another day and have a long life.

Yeah I definitely could do some more straight punching. If you watch the sparring video I posted its much more controlled, including more straight punches. In the fight I mostly threw straight rights or lefts to the body on the way in from distance.
I'm a fan of Ali, will have to check the fight vs Williams.
Nobody had taught or told me, but I had seen it before and seemed appropriate. Supposed to be a good sign of sportsmanship is my understanding. Honestly its a weird thing, going from like jubilation/joy of knocking someone out to the awkward silence, hearing his mom or whoever crying, while waiting for them to get up.
I had knocked a lot of people down (mostly with body shots but a few to the head on accident) in sparring, but never knocked someone out with 1 punch to the head. I'm forced not to hit to the head much when I spar because I had given people concussions in the past on accident.
So far I've never been rocked, wobbled, or knocked down, and I'm used to sparring much heavier opponents (and have fought two opponents in official matches that had 10+lbs on me). I've talked with my trainers though, I usually am the type to be too tough for my own good, so they have my permission to call it off if I seem damaged, etc.

What weight are you? And your age?
Here for you is Ali vs Williams:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJUzl0aFHZw
Many say it's his best fight. Only 3 rds IIRC, so won't take much time, you'll love it.
Note that Ali lands a 1-2 double punch as he is dancing backwards. People made a big thing of SRR landing a KD punch while dancing back, but here Ali threw/landed 2 punches.
One of a kind boxer and person.
Note that I am not rec'd you to emulate that as few humans had his reflexes etc. Just rec'd so you see what straight punches can do--esp given the head gear around the sides of the face in ams.
Enjoy the video, it'll be a treat if you never saw it.
Perhaps the greatest recorded video of a boxer's incredible speed of hand and foot.
Let me know what you think.

I've def seen clips, but never watched the whole fight.
Amazing how patient Ali is in that first round. I've been getting more patient as my defense has improved, but I still get a bit anxious if I haven't attacked in a while as I feel I'm giving the round away and in ams we only have the 3rds.
I noticed I sort of do a similar lunging lead hook as Ali, but it works better for him as his reach is longer and he angles off to the side much more.
Yeah those straight punches were money. Saw a couple nice pull counters. He also was so composed going in for the kill. They def should've called that one off at the end of the 2nd lol. Talk about saved by the bell. Glad the ref stepped in when he did in the 3rd.

In 1st rd, Ali went in to him with a 1-2 and moved his head to the side quickly at the end even though there was no counter. I wonder if he did this intentionally as when you go in for offense like that one is vulnerable, so he moved his head just in case there would be a counter about to be thrown. It's quick so I hadn't noticed.
It's like he knew when he was or would be vulnerable and added that.
So far ahead of everyone else IMO.

I used to fight more like Ali (at least in sparring), but all that movement will tire you out much quicker. Now I utilize the high guard and subtle distance management instead of relying on footwork and head movement all the time.
