  • Trainers/Mitt guys, you ever devolop a Ganglion Cyst?

I guess they are pretty common, on the hands and wrist areas. Pain usually isn't associated with them unless they're on a tendon, which mine is unfortunately. Scheduled for a minor surgery next month (thanks HMO!)

Anyways, the Dr. told me there really isn't a known cause but theoretically its from trauma to the area. My only thought of trauma to my wrist would be from holding pads.

So with that said, have any of you trainers ever developed a cyst in the wrist area? What focus mitts did you use before/after?

    Thanks!

I had a small one form on my first finger, near the webbing in-between the fingers. I actually got it from finger ****ing my g/f at the time. A doc told me they form due to irritation or trauma to the area and that they tend to be attached to tendons. He said in the old days people would just smash them with a book but that you can have them surgically removed now. I tried to crush it w/ my fingers but it didn't work.

I had it for a few years, then one day after shrugging 120lb dumbells, it was gone. I guess I smashed it while gripping the dumbells. Never returned.

Someone told me some Dr. Pimple popper could pop this cyst but i couldnt imagine it. When it hits against something, it burns like a MF... ive been running more and sticking to machine weights. I **** my damn arm to much lifting. Not a bad thing though since ivd been gaining weight...
