how to balance heavy squats and running

    hey

im currently conditioning my body in the lead up to training at a new gym. thinking of going pro in a couple years.

I'm trying to get STRONG and well conditioned. I've got around 10kg to lose.

I need to do heavy squats to build my base and legs. I also need to run at least 4 times a week.

Ideally id squat 3x per week, but with the running load im thinking this may be too much on my legs

what do y'all think? should i drop it to squatting 2x per week?

Why do you believe you "ought to" squat three times per week?

One really decent squatting session would balls up my legs for running speed sessions for as much as four days!

Getting strong AND losing weight is tricky at the same time. Honestly; cane the running until you lose the weight, then consider adding squats.

Not sure why you think you need to do heavy squats but don't fall into the trap many do of thinking you can figure it all out on paper in advance. The ONLY thing you need to focus on right now is losing weight. Then, prioritize accordingly. 10kg is a lot of work and most fail at losing that much so don't start picking out curtains when you don't even have a roof over your head. Prioritize.
