Kinda what it is, not sure if I'm explaining things correctly, but yes when going backwards in an angle I'm being taught to go from Orthodox one side then when pivoting again to go Southpaw for a counter hit, then again switch to Orthodox for a counter hit, etc.

Other than defense moves and switches, I actually don't use Southpaw, even in an offensive combo. I've never tried that actually, maybe once in the very beginning when my coach was trying to show me something, but haven't picked it up quick enough maybe...

What’s crazy is my coach made me switch southpaw because he said I punch better
But I miss how in orthodox I could turn on a dime and quicker on my feet

As a tall guy you should primarily use your reach and fight from the outside. Keep guys at the end of your punches and make it hell for them to ever get close to you. That does require having decent footwork but it doesn't have to be fancy twinkle toes stuff. Try for simple, efficient, and smooth.

If you can then add an inside game to that you would be fairly complete, like Rid**** Bowe. But I would first concentrate on getting good at outfighting.

How long have you been in southpaw?
