I used to skip rope way back for training (non-boxing). I've recently started it back up for the reasons stated in this thread. It's been a long time since I've felt light on my feet, and this should help.

skip rope will help you with coordination, stamina and endurance.

Warning... Before doing that make sure your calves and legs are fully stretched and flexible. If not, you'd unconsciously tip toe and that is really bad. You'd tiptoe and put almost all your weight on the front part of your feet. It will permanently damage the middle part, the tarsals

Skipping rope will help your footwork tremendously while working on your leg strength and agility.

It's also important that you use proper shoes to skip rope as it can cause knee or ankle injuries.
