  • Glove/No Glove

Whats the difference between being hit with a glove and being hit with no glove? Do boxers only use gloves to protect there hands? etc. I always wondered this when im boxing lol

No glove's a lot more sore at the point of impact, but not so bad as far as rocking your brain. Might cut you, cause some localized swelling, cause a flash KO/KD, or even crack the bone; but it's probably not going to cause permanent brain damage.

EDIT; yes I do think boxers wear gloves to protect their hands. Most boxers aren't going to want to punch bone on bone too much if they're fighting bareknuckle: easier to bust your hand. Old bareknuckle had a bit more importance on body shots.

i remember reading that the sole purpose of inventing boxing gloves was to protect the fighters hands. the tough bastards in the old days would go 60, 70, 80+ rounds but their hands were broken in nearly every fight and you can imagine how difficult it would be to fight through that kind of pain all the time.

So the pain from a punch with a glove and no glove is the same?

wha? i dont know how it feels to land a punch with a broken hand but what im saying is that your hands are more protected and less likely to break if you have gloves on. its possible that both fighters could end up with broken hands in the very first round without gloves. a skull bone is very hard while your hand bones are somewhat brittle, crashing the two together at full force is, well.....you get the idea.

Conditioned knuckles are much more devastating than gloved knuckles. Unconditioned knuckles get broken.....

am i the only 1 thinkin thats a daft question?

if ther was no gloves involved in boxing, ppl would die and get badly hurt

and obviously its gonna hurt more if sum 1 hits u with no gloves on rather than with gloves coz the bare fist is alot harder

same if u hit sum 1 bare fist, ittle hurt u more coz ur hand aint protected
