Boxing head gear missing top string

I have the Cleto Reyes headgear with the nose bar but my trainer realized today that it’s missing the top string to tighten it up.

As I was sparring it moved so much that it literally covered my eyes and I couldn’t see a thing so my trainer gave me another headgear from the gym.

Do you guys know if there is anything else that I can use besides sneaker strings to tighten up the headgear?

Did you try reaching out to the maker to see if they sell loose strings? Or pulling one from a cheap pair?
