If you do legit punch hard you will gain some punching power by gaining weight.

It also depends a lot on technique.
Guys who know how to turn their weight over properly will gain power.
Im talking about good leverage to be clear.

The problem is by gaining weight you will be fighting
bigger stronger guys. Who will take the punches better regardless.

            What?

The man has an unorthodox style but he clearly
knows how to throw solid well delivered shots.

Even at this stage in his career dude throws hurtful looking punches.

This isn't calzaghe we talking about.

Like Daigo said, punching power is as much about timing and technique in your delivery of the punch as it is size. That's why you get small guys who are wrecking machines & big guys who couldn't KO a fly.

NO. Some fighters do, some fighters don't. It's much less about gaining and losing power and more about whether the fighters at that weight feel harmed by the same power (a.k.a. Canelo couldn't hurt Golovkin, Danny Garcia couldn't hurt Thurman.)
