  • Boxing gloves hard to put on

I just recently bought this gloves. http://www.ringside.com/DETAIL.ASPX?ID=25151

I didn't expect it, but they are very tight to put on and straining. Do i just need to wear it for a while and it will loosen up? I don't think i'll even be able to put it on if i use hand wraps.

Which part is giving you trouble? the wrist? the palm? the pocket?

Ringsides can be a snug pocket for people with big hands; Reyes are actually great for people with big hands. After you work out in the gloves & sweat in them a while, you'll break in the leather and they'll fit nice.

If you're in a rush and really want to break them in asap, double wrap, use a knuckle guard, and squeeze your hands in there best you can (will probably need some help). You'll stretch the leather out quicker.

If you don't mind a more gradual break-in period and just want to be able to use them for a good workout, skip wraps altogether and go bare handed- the snug pocket will provide support until they loosen up.

If you're having a hard time slipping them on due to the wrist/palm, make sure you roll the elastic band all the way up and open up the glove as much as possible before trying to slide them on.

if there really tight dont worry about handwraps for just doing bags n tht but if your sparring it would be best to have hand wraps on , get a set of the new kinds of handwraps there like glove you just put on then put ur gloves on, they will loosen up after a while.

the problem is getting my hand through the first portion of the glove, before my hand is entirely in. The wrist section is very tight. Will that part expand a little? Once i get everything in there is fits good though

I bought the same pair a couple of months ago. My suggestion: RETURN THEM. They feel good when you punch but are way to hard to put on I would go with winning or everlast hook and loop definatley no elastic cuffs.

Everlast hook and loop are dirt cheap and they're pretty good too, though the foam is very dense so taking hard shots hurts less and the light ones hurt more.
