  • 1st Exhibition Match

Woo I won! Was a close, competitive match. Kurt is a beast. I'm in red.

Let me know about anything specific you saw.

I was a little nervous round 1 and forgot about my breathing, so tried to recuperate. Def saw that I was slowing down a bit and not moving my head as good as I was in the beginning.

    Was a great experience.

Edit: Some other videos were taken with prob better angles. I'll post then when they are uploaded as well.

That guy was there for the taking. Body shots would have killed him.

You could have destroyed him, you were too apprehensive, the grey guy was slow and podding, no footwork, you could have gone the body round 1,2 then upstairs 3 for a KO

He's a guy from my gym so I wasn't really trying to KO or throw as hard as I could. Really wanted to try to outbox him. I've only been in the gym for 3-4 months, so was nice that I felt I could keep up with a guy that's been training for a few years. Obviously I felt I was in the better shape.

Rd 1 I was nervous at the beginning. Felt like I had good head movement and movement in general during the first minute, but my breathing was off and so I tried to conserve towards the end of rd 1.

Yeah thats what my corner told me as well after rd 1. That right to the body was working well. Once again I feel like this isn't the best angle to see some of those body shots, so will def post the other videos.

It was a learning experience for sure. Glad I got the W but was a little too close for comfort. If I was in an enemy gym I don't know if I would've got the decision.

So will keep working and training. Can only imagine how much better I'll be doing in another 3-4 months!

Never heard of "exhibitions" that ended in a decision.
Who was the sanctioning body officiating the show?
Was it a "smoker", void of a sanctioning body?
Did anyone blanket the event via an insurance rider?

I think it would be considered a smoker, but there were judges and a medical person and all that.

Not sure on an insurance rider.

If you don't have personal insurance then you need some to box. Any show you appear on should have a blanket insurance coverage for the fighters on the show.
I ran shows for many years and if there's not a credited federation running the event (rules & insurance) who covers the fighters I would not appear on the show.
You don't need a serious injury to rack up thousands in bills at an emergency room.
Cover yourself!!! Cong**** on your W.
