It certainly looked like they did. You were wearing 16oz gloves though........…...Rockin'

What you experienced was not an actual bout but rather a prearranged sparing. It's great experience and you didn't have to get hit by 10oz gloves. It appeared to me that your opponent was easily more experienced than you. But you did good. At about the 0:45 point you got under one of his shots and ripped an uppercut in to his belly, nice work there. You had a couple of other good moves but I just forget. Good work. Don't forget to thank your sparring partner for working so that you could learn...…….Rockin'

Haa yeah that's basically exactly what it was. They just called them exhibition matches. 16 oz gloves, and not trying to knock each other out.

Kurt's definitely much more experience than I am, I've only been training for going into my 4th month now. He's been doing this a couple years. He's a great dude and I really appreciate all the sparring and work we put in every week.

Thanks for the kind words much appreciated!

Next up will be my first actual amateur match, so I'll keep you guys updated!

The club I started with had a kid with maybe 7 fights and boxed on and off for possibly 3 or 4 years. This was my sparring partner and he was all about kickin' my ass, every time. He was a ****y young guy who kicked my ass as a beginner. The coaches always warned him just to work but he always brought his A game and his bombs.

Damn yeah I'm glad that I have some good sparring partners in the gym. We go hard but we aren't trying to kill each other. We do a good job at matching pace and intensity and keeping it light. No hard feelings if you get tagged, etc.

Theres 1 guy that I spar a little harder with, can be some good experience.
