  • Pain in my upper-right arm/shoulder

The side top and front of my shoulder is extremely sore when I turn over. When I throw my right hand I can feel a sore pull. Is there stretches I can do for my right hand and what mild injury is this.

Is it a rotator cuff injury?

What were you doing prior to when the pain had started.

Former competitive athlete here, side top of what? What side? Turn over what? I don't understand you. What makes you thik it's mild? Bad shoulder injuries don't necessarirly hurt badly.

Make an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon that specializes in Sports Medicine. Get imaging done. MRI is best. Don't settle for Cortisone or Physical Therapy.

Asking a Boxing forum is a bad idea.

I still don't understand when you say you're turning your arm over.

Touch your right shoulder with your left hand, do you feel any bumps? I don't mean zits, I mean boney bumps. If yes, does the bump hurt when you press down on it?

If yes, thats your AC joint and it's seperated. The fix there is leave it alone. No training for several weeks. Cortisone shot could help.

Other than that, ligament tear, you're fùcked --- pray it's not a ligament tear. Rotator cuff, you're fùcked. Six months recovery post-op which is really 9-12 months. Bursitis, you could be fùcked dependning on your bursa sac and how it responds to inactivity and/or treatment (physical therapy and cortisone). This is why you need to see an orthopedic surgeon that specializes in sports medicine.

If you do decide on a doctor and get a cortisone shot, make sure you ask for live imaging while they shoot you up. Otherwise, it's a guessing game which could take 9 months to get the right spot. You can't have too much cortisone otherwise you can die so you can only get 3-4 shots per year.

Good luck and go to a doctor my friend.

Go to the Doc if you can
Maybe try these out once you're feeling a little better.
