  • Need Advice on Losing Weight & Getting Lean

What's up! So recently I've been starting to feel the extra pounds on me. Last year I was doing boxing training and was at 155 pounds and I'm 5'8. But, I stopped working out and my eating habits are not always the healthiest. Long story short I'm 176.8 lbs and want/need to lose weight, and get healthy and lean again.

I've been walking and running more frequently now. And on my lunch breaks at work or after work I take time to go walk/run.

Any advice on how I can get lean and lose weight in a healthy efficient way. I want to get down to 150.

Diet is everything. You can’t make up for diet by exercising, especially when you’re approaching your 30’s. Exercising extensively follows the model of diminishing returns.

What is your usual diet? Sugary drinks, overly fatty proteins, what kind of starches do you consume daily?

I’m not saying to eat less, but it might help to make substitutions in your diet. Example sweet potato subbed for bread, or chicken vs processed meats.

Fatty proteins is sort of an oxymoron lol. Are you talking about eating 80% lean beef instead of chicken and 96% lean beef?

Exactly, apologize for the wording. Anecdotal evidence indicated that I was putting on the pounds because of my best friend pork. Pork belly and pork shoulder will get you fatter haha.

It's called 'will power', you might want to find yourself some. You must quit stuffing your face with **** foods so much and exercise. Eat something that has value to your vision. Simple as that.......

Run every morning first thing when you wake up.

If you drink alcohol stop it. If you drink soda or sugary drinks stop it. Stop eating any sort of processed sugar (sweets, bread, pastries, etc), and stop eating carbs in general.

And then I'd recommend intermittent fasting and an extreme caloric restriction.

I've lost about 20 lbs in a span of a month. Started at 178, went down to 158 and now I'm hovering around 160-164.
