How likely is it that ive already got some future wear and tear damage waiting for me (ive had this pain regularly for 2 years) ?
You're likely hurting your tendons, which heals up in weeks/months. Joint damage can be permanent, but you probably don't have that.

However i have just realised, it happens a lot during drills where my gloves act like pads with a partner. But even in sparring blocking/parrying with my inner glove is hella painful and makes me lower my poer and output. So could this still be the case as it isnt that common when actually punching?
      1. Can you link me to your hand wraps please?

      2. Does the pain only happen during Boxing or when not Boxing as well?

lol i wouldnt get too scared and dont think an orthopaedic opinion is necessary. unless its accompanied by pins and needles or numbness its probably not a nerve injury and even so, the simplest solution is just to get better padded gloves and give yourself an initial period of rest.

            1. Walk me through how you're wrapping your hands please.

            2. Also, you're previous wraps, were they that canvas like material?

            3. Lastly, how long have you had the new wraps and does the pain persist?

Is the finger pain still ongoing or resolved itself?

Man. I'm breaking in these new gloves and they're cutting up my knuckles bad. My lower knuckles. Like the middle of my fingers, not by the nails. The gloves are just cut really small and tight. They're made of real leather and are like an old school type of glove and that's the reason why I bought them, but my fingers are cut, swollen, and slightly bruised. Been using neosporen on em, hoping they'll heal up fine.

Pain near fingernails from hitting a bag or whatever is a weird one. See a doctor before paying out for an expensive pair of gloves. New gloves might not solve the problem.

I would probably lay off the work until they heal up 100% or you may get the cuts infected.

                      You have some weird injuries.
