    Boxing Equipment questions!

I just wanted some oppinions on some of this...

Bag Mount + 150lbs Punching Bag

    VS

    Wall Mounted Punching Bag

Which would be better for developing punching power? Which would be best to just pound away on?

Now to the Gloves for one of them!
14 ounce Bag Gloves + Gell glove wraps, probably small or medium

So whats your opinions on these things? Anyone ever used any of this stuff? Is it anygood?

my preference has always been the hanging bag, its best to learn timing and how to pace yourself.

DONT GET THE GEL WRAPS. I have them and they came apart after about six light uses. Just get a few pairs of regular wraps instead.

It isn't a very good comparison between the bags if you are looking for one bag to be at the center of your training. The wall bag surves its purposs as far as suplementing accuracy and various combos' to a seasoned vet. A beginer or novice would be better served by a hanging bag for a lot of reasons one you have a full range of motion to move around the bag. Your apponent isn't going to stand there in front of you. The hanging bag swings when hit it has more give which if they could talk your striking limbs would thank you for, Id say the hanging bag wins in all catagories except saving space.
I have seen the gel wraps used by some hard hitters. Never a pro or seasoned amateur. not sure what there benifits are in comparison to traditional bag or training gloves and handwraps. There is a reason that method is used so widly. It works.

i have the glove wraps, they're ok, but i prefer 180inch mexican style handwraps much better.

that everlast superheavy bag is obviously a top-of-the-line bag, and very expensive, i'd rather get a ringside leather bag

At Ringside, we are serious about fight sports, especially boxing and MMA. We offer the best prices on boxing equipment in addition to videos, tutorials, and guides. Low-cost shipping guaranteed!

note that ringside uses a softer type of fill inside their bags to protect your hands better.

for gloves, i use the 16 oz. title platinum training/sparring gloves on the bag, and another pair of the exact gloves for sparring (16 oz.), mainly because i want to have the same feel/speed in sparring as i do for the bag.

those title pro super bag gloves should be good.

are gloves I can use for both bag and sparring. I dont wanna put a whole lot of money into this just starting out. the gloves I saw were like 40 a pair. for me $80 bucks is alot of money considering I got other bills to pay.

also, about shoes. cross trainers are good for just sparring and whatnot right?

I bought an everlast speed bag+platform for $50. the platform is good enought but the bag is ass. its like a large vinyl bag. there is hardly any rebound whatsoever. should I buy the medium leather or go straight for the small. the swivel I got looks cheap so Ill just switch that out with something different.
