  • How do I do Jab and forward correctly?

I m a newb newb to boxing. Everytime I jabs + forward movement my coach reminds me that I shouldn't be jumping.

Shall I life my right leg up if I'm doing the Orthodox style?

The simplest way to explain the technique is to compare it to a "fencing forward move" can't remember the word in fencing but in boxing your pushing off the rear foot and stepping with your jab.
As you get comfortable doing it you refine the move and add
    other jab techniques in time.

You don't want your feet off the floor when your landing a punch.........
and damn sure don't want them off when receiving one....

I used to do that myself. Eventually you will get used to it. It will eventually become second nature not to do it.
