    Shoulder injury

I had a shoulder injury 2 years ago and stopped competing, and when i thought i thought the injury was gone and started working om a comeback the pain came back in both my shoulders now, had a alots of scans but the only thing they could find wrong was some inflammation on my shoulder bone, so my doctor Will give me now cortisone. How serious is such an injury and how can i recover from it? It hurts when i hook, jab or cross and the opponent pushes it or jump on them and put his weight on my punsh that i can feel my shoulder bounce.

Are you sure it's not a pinched nerve?

Sounds like the exact problem that I have. It's come and gone for several years now. One time I tried to work through it with heavy weights and my entire arm got numb.

What sort of scans did you have?

X-Ray, CT, MRI, etc? Did you have contrast? This is important to know.

Also, how old are you and what do you do for work?

Your shoulder bone can't be inflamed unless you have bone spurs. But there are things in and around your shoulder that can be inflamed.

Do you have impingement? If yes, what sort of impingement?

There are a bunch of things you could have.
      • Impingement
      • Rotator Cuff Tears
      • Bursitis
      • AC Joint Seperation
      • Haggle (Ligament tears)
      • Etc

Just wanted to add that they now sell these electric vibration therapy tools in popular pharmacy chains. I tried one out and it was really good for my shoulder.

I was told you can only have 2 cortisone shots in a lifetime so be careful with that. Have you seen a physio therapist or athletic therapist? They may be able to do some stress tests and isolate the issue. See a massage therapist too...it helps keep your body balanced!

            Incorrrect.

You can have 3-4 cortisone shots annually. It depends on the amounts per shot.

Cool, but repeated use can't be good for you...

There is a threshold of theraputic usage. Long-term (10+ years), you might have an argument. But short-term e.g. a few years can be fine.

I always stayed away from that, even when people tried to get me to get one for pain.

I've had several and they often work. Never had a problem. Depends on who's giving them and if you're getting live imaging.
