    Beginner needs boxing workout advice

    Started boxing 2 months ago, and I get some pretty decent workouts when i go, but I feel like im just bouncing around doing random stuff.

    Lately, this has been my workout:
    15mins jump rope
    3R Speed bag
    3R double end bag
    5R heavy bag
    then Ill usually end with pulling this semi tire up and down a hill 2-3 times or do the agility ladder for 10-20 minutes.

    My cardio is pretty crappy and want to compete as soon as possible. I'm 22 and I'd say I'm pretty athletic and catch onto things quickly. Any advice is very appreciated.

    skipping:
    FAST tempo
    in'n'outs
    double-unders
    move around
    head movement

    bags don't hit back. don't get comfortable

    roadwork, most mornings

    footwork drills, padwork, slip-rope, shadow-boxing WHY IS THERE NO SHADOWBOXING IN YOUR ROUTINE

    TOP TIP: burpees for rounds

      I'll try doing that this evening at the gym.
      Any advice on roadwork that you'd be willing to share?

        The most important thing is the roadwork. Here in LA we call it five at five .you run 5 miles at 5 AM when the air is fresh and crisp. If you can do this your workouts at the gym will come so much easier. Don't forget to stretch when you're done jump roping and again when you're done working out

          intervals
          tempo
          steady

          just mix it up and listen to your body

          there is no need to run hundreds of miles. roger Bannister (the first man recorded as running a mile sub-4 mins) worked out on his lunch break. fartleks are fun, sprinting between lampposts basically

            I have read that a boxing footwork is very important for beginners.

              Awesome, thank you so much for the info. Did a lot of footwork and shadow boxing drills yesterday that you were telling me to do and it definitely felt much more productive than just punching that bag forever.
