    Training Gloves (Pad Work)

    Hi guys

Recently started doing some Boxing sessions. Mostly pad work. I had some old Lonsdale gloves which I was given when I was about 12, they haven't got that much support and are just slip on ones, so I'm looking for some advice on purchasing some training gloves please.

A friend of mine suggested the "Winning" training gloves, but after searching these range from £200-£300, which seems very steep for someone just dipping their toes into boxing as mostly a fitness/self defence aspect.

Can anyone recommend any training gloves which offer good support, maybe what you do/have used or heard from other people.

    I was going to buy:
The flexible leather & neoprene training gym gloves feature reinforced silicone-padded palms to improve your grip strength and control over weight lifting.

which have really good reviews on their site and independent sites but YouTube reviews seem to say the wrist support isn't the best and the thumb is a bit 'short' so can be awkward when throwing punches.

Was looking at these two also:

Any pointers or suggestions would be appreciated please

    Cheers lads

If your always going to be with someone when wearing them, get lace ups they offer much better wrist support

Winning gloves are very good. I would back them as well.

As I get more into boxing I will probably invest heavily into a pair of Winning gloves. As I'm just dipping my toes at the moment I've ordered some Venum gloves which had great reviews for people starting out and not too pricey.

Cheers for the replies though guys

For basic boxing training/work outs, you can really go with any type of gloves just check the reviews. Don't invest in Winning, Grant, ect. unless you're very serious about the sport (competing, training 5x a week, going pro ect.). Any type of gloves will suffice.
