    Foam Rollers usage

I got myself a Foam Roller to massage my muscles and prevent injuries.

I normally stretch for a couple of minutes after a workout
though I don't know if I should add foam rolling to stretching after a workout. Or foam rolling then streching?

Normally my muscles hurt a little bit when I try to tense them after rolling. So not too sure about stretching after rolling...

Or seperately distributed during the day?
Is it even recommened to foam roll/ massage after a workout?

I usually foam roll before I train or on rest days where I feel tightness to help loosen up without a true "warm up"

Like Allen stated, I used them before, before workouts. I haven't used them for a while as I'm so short on time these days that I don't really warm up for long periods, but they work very well to eliminate tightness.. at least they did for me.

Why do you stretch after working out? Unless you need more flexibility there is no reason to do that.

Foam rolling is to help take the tension out of the muscle, and to spread the acid in your blood out. It's very similar to deep tissue massage, so it can cause soreness and muscle fatigue.

I would only use foam rolling on extreme intense days, especially if you know your taking the next day off from the gym.
