The brain slamming the wall of the skull is bad for it. No one can tell you how much damage you'll receive or how much it'll affect you. But, if you get into boxing, you have to do it with the understanding that you may suffer brain damage. Same as a motocross rider accepting that they may get broken bones.

If you don't want brain damage then don't go pro.

Can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs

You can't say you will or will not, but you can not play boxing, you need to understand that you are gonna get punched in the head. Some of those head shots won't hurt, some may knock you down, some may knock you out, and some make you think f* this

You just need to understand the dangers. It's like signing up to the military, you need to understand that you may see combat, hopefully not, but it is very strong possibility

Sparring wars and sparring to much in camp is a mistake that to many guys make in boxing and mma.
That's why people don't last in the sport at the pro level, in my opinion. They burn out

I argue with coaches all the time about this... I have good guys that i have ran camps for in the pros and we spar once a camp. It just depends on your experience and if you feel comfortable in there. Thats just my advice and what i do with my guys.

If you have a fear of brain damage, not sure its a good idea to go pro because the fear of taking shots will affect you in fights.

Really man? Thats interesting. I know there are some fighters that sparring is all they do to get ready for fights which I know isnt good at all, but you guys only do it once?

Yea my main guy Kevin Cruz run most of his pro camps. The best fights have been the most with minimal sparring http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/696562

he welds 50 hours a week and has a family. I just think injuries in camp are usually from sparing in my experience. He also was 60 plus wins and 5 loses... He is use to being in there.

I have also done this for other guys to... some guys spar a lot.
I've train a lot of guys randomly some of these guys arent in the greatest situation. Boxing or MMA
So i guess i just want to be on the safe side as i get older.

plenty of amateurs have brain damage. Most the damage is taken in gym wars anyways so not going pro wont save you

                    Yes you'll get dain bramage.

In the Ams you'll get it too. I got a touch of it before I quit. I'm good now. I never took beatings either cuz I was really mobile, had a great defense, and was super tough. I just took some big shots from domestic and world champs. Its not the amount of shots its the shots that ring your bell that does the damage.

BD comes in a variety of forms. Slow thinking, depression, not hearing people cuz you're deep in thought, motor function impairment are more acute symptoms.

If you're not super talented I would stay away from it. You got to be really good to make it in boxing.
