    only drink water, lots of it - no alcohol, no soft drinks

    cut out fast food, sugary snacks, crisps (Fat Yanks: chips), etc

    quality carbs = wholegrain rice, pasta, potatoes
    quality protein = fish, chicken, beef
    quality fats = coconut oil, olive oil, nuts
    ^aim for about 33% ratio of each (carbs, protein, fats) to start with

    i was told a proper portion of meat is about the size of your fist

    the number one place to start is to only drink water though, and lots of it, that makes a huge difference just on its own. drink a glass of water before every meal
