  • Tips for loosening up in sparring?

I have this problem, i know (theory) a lot of things that i need to do/not do. But when i am sparring it seems that i cannot apply them on the ring, like i forget all that i know and it's just an all out brawl. Any tips on overcoming this?

Sidenote: Is there a place on this website to meet up local fighters?, it would be cool to meet/spar local fighters.

    Thanks in advance.

    1) Do it more often. This works for any type of performance be it boxing, singing, public speaking, etc.
    2) Sharpen up your defense. If you don't feel like a sitting duck, you're going to be less tense.

This one alywas works for me:
1st round, use your jab only; high and low,
2nd round, jab and lead hook allowed
      3rd round, let your right.
Doing so you won't be drowning when learning to swim, you will have much less stuff to think about.

Some people do the mitts for a few to loosen up before getting in there.

Yes, it had been months since my last sparring session. Need to get back into the grind.

San Diego so kind of far... but it would be awesome though.
