Everyone in the gym knows I've been going there for 4 months and that this is going to be my 1st legit sparing so I'm not really concerned if they will think I'm lame. I know that I will be lame, more or less, as almost everyone is when doing something for the first time. But I know it's the only way to learn what to do and to actually use some skills I already have. My concern is solely that I don't want my partner to be bored. Thank you everyone for all the advice!

So, our coach thinks I'm ready for serious sparring and he got the idea I should spar with one of the more experienced guys in the gym. I mean, he's not super experienced but he's definitely way above my current level. The thing is the guy is a short and stocky type and he wants to spar with someone taller. And I'm perhaps the only tall guy there who's only a couple of kilos heavier than him so that also might be a reason for the two of us sparring.

I'm naturally really nervous because it would be my 2nd sparring in general and the 1st serious one. I'm nervous because I feel like I'm useless but then again, at my current level, I feel that actually sparring is the only way to move forward.

But I was thinking if there's any advice you folks could give me. Here's what I know:

-- He's more experienced than myself, if only by a couple of months.
-- He's got better stamina as he hits the gym 5 times a week (I'm there 3 times at best)
-- He's got a record of 4 fights. However, he lost all of them by TKO or KO.
-- As I already wrote, he's much shorter and a little bit lighter than me.
-- He's very aggressive and quite fast but doesn't have a good defense or sophisticated technique. I can hardly tell anything about my style given my lack of experience but what I can tell is that I like technical boxing and feints.

        I'm thankful for any ideas.
        here's what you do:

when the bell rings get right in his face, then you should punch him in his face. Then when he tries to punch you back in your face ..............move and repeat.

you got the length, use it.
          jab and move, feint.
if he bites on your feints, then sting him
don't forget to touch him to the body and the head
mix it up, jab: body, head..... up and down down and up.
Get low when sticking your jab in to is body. Immediately after that shot lands bring another jab behind it aiming for the face
get your head safely behind your shoulder, incase of unseen right hand counters. Your other glove should be in front of your face. *watch for hooks* and move
and move: stick 1,2 or 3 jabs and move.
Get him worried about your jab and then drop in your right hand........
