"Have you ever considered filming an instructional DVD or an online course for boxers"?

If anyone wants to train under my guidance they can arrange that with me.
Remember my name is Ray Corso and other than Young John Scully I'm the only one on this forum that uses his real name!

Why make a dvd or video for someone to buy then it it winds up in a pile of other "instructional video's" in their closet.

Boxing can only be taught in person. My students get to see the picture from my eyes. Then their Methods & Technology are molded by both of us. We don't play boxing, we live it!

Never heard about those situations. Ali always wore head gear to my knowledge and would use sparring to add to his body conditioning as many old school guys used to do. Ali used sparring for distance and tie ups and positioning a ref away from his open hand. He basically worked on defense and used the "rope a dope" long before he brought it into play against Foreman.
He used a small ring in the Penn mountains and a full size ring in Miami.

I saw some old timers say it on some youtube videos but here's an extract, page 126 s https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=...adgear&f=false

In my gym there's no other way to spar, it's like everyone is out to prove something. Can't change their minds so... a war it is!

Obviously in person training is ideal.

But not everyone can make the trip all the way to where you live. DVDs or online courses would allow you to reach people all over the world.

                Just a suggestion.

They're both good and not good. I've found it to be helpful sometimes. It shouldn't happen too often but I've found myself in a few to the point where the ringside became crowded. But sparring is sparring. It usually starts with guys who aren't as experienced trying to show off maybe.

My favorite sparring "war" was with a beginner. Guess I wouldn't call it a war. He would though. He was getting in there for the first or second time and I could tell he was trying to look hard or tough maybe? I told him to relax, it's just sparring. Maybe he felt a little insulted when I said that. Anyways, he tried to tee off on me two times in the first round. I beat him down for 3 straight rounds. He never really came back.
