Here's a tip when fighting slick jabbers/counter punchers that I learned from sparring: every time they throw a jab hop on 'em and throw triple jabs and follow up with the right hand. They usually can slip one or two punches in a row but rarely a third and once you find them with that third jab the right hand hits all by itself practically.

Makes them think twice before they jab and/or counter.

If that's not your style thats cool. It worked for me because I was a very come forward type of fighter.
I'll mix that in....1,1,1,2 then a left to the body n head

    Great advice.

His defense n reflexes are great

Can't be predictable n he is always ready to counter

Yeah for sure. Even harder going against him for only 3 rds. By the time you get his timing down the fight is about over lol.

          Yea. I walk around @ 140-143

          Before training I was 160

          The weight fell off lol

I'm 5' 6.5" so I'm average height for the division

          Thanks bro

I always spar bigger guys, more experienced guys. The good thing is, when I get in there with guys my size w/less experience than Rae, I know I can take their shots, have a lil more know how, and they are not gonna be as sharp as he is.

            Exactly

The most I've done with him is 7-8 straight....pro rounds

I actually got better as the spar wore on, settled down n could see his shots n moves better

Coach j trains us up... Meaning you never spar a guy smaller or less experience than you so when we travel or people visit and spar, we always get the better of guys the same size n experience level

No regrets but I wish this gym was around when I moved back home @ 22 years old.... I'd have probably turned pro but hey I can always become a great coach!!!
