I'm not one of those guys that want to get jacked, I was always against lifting weights for boxing but my dad told me I should be doing something to build up my upperbody to look more intimidating. So basically what's the best way to build my physique that will also contribute to my boxing or not harm it.

How do you build an intimidating physique

If you want to build muscle mass then bodybuilding is the way to go. A push pull legs split is good for bodybuilding but depending on how much you want to work towards building muscle mass it might be too infrequent. If you're only going to lift weights two or three times a week then doing a whole body workout would be better. Hitting bench press, seated row, squats, curls, lateral raises, and cable pulldowns for two sets of 10 each would be enough.
Other programs like stronglifts or starting strength are okay for powerlifting but won't build your upper body muscle mass as much. This is especially true for arms.

Not sure why you need an opposing physique. Is your boxing not great that you want them to think your better/tougher than you are? Surely the opposite is better, someone who looks at you, gets complacent, thinks you'll be easy and then you throw a killer six punch combo in the blink of an eye?

Redd and Richard, intimidation can do a lot, Mike Tyson, Jack Dempsey and a lot of other fighters won fights before they were started. Richard I somewhat agree with you, except I dont agree with giving them confidence I think it would be better to not give them that confidence. Anyway I'm just saying if you can have the intimidation factor why not?

Some people are intimidated by big, bulky bodybuilder types. But those who really know will be more wary of a lean and mean fighter's build.
