  • Having fun during Infighting

Whenever I am sparring and my opponent gets close and want to infight with me and we start to exchange I can't help but smile and I get the feeling of having fun as we fight this way. This however doesn't happen if my opponent is backing off or refusing to exchange.

Is it normal to be smiling and feeling excited and having fun like this?

Close the space, good footwork, connect and get back out of range avoiding his counter is always more rewarding in my opinion than trading and slugging, but that's just me

Yes. Typically that means you don't take it seriously

I get an evil grin during infighting too.

It's my preferred range and I can't help but become giddy that my opponent just put himself in my wheelhouse. Or that I managed to corral him and put him there myself.

Last time I was infighting, I was trying to work in between my opponents elbows, accidently strayed my left too far south and landed low.

He said it was a good shot.

Did you feel a little tingling in your nutsack when he got close to you? Is that why you're smiling?

LOL lately I've been really feeling it too, i get the high guard up, walk my opponent to the ropes then dig in those body punches beautiful
