  • Golden globe information?

EDIT. (ment to write golden glove in the title)Okay so here's the deal. I'm interested in possibly fighting in the Chicago golden gloves on March 8th. This would be my first fight. A few questions. 1. Is this a wise thing to do as my first amature fight? I havent been training very long in pure boxing. Maybe 5 months. Although I have trained in MMA in the past, no fights, but have confidence in myself. I'm just curious if I should have other local amature fights before entering a golden glove? This lead to my second question. I know I would be entering in the Novice class which apparently is people with under 10 fights. Now here's the pickle. Do they attempt to match you with people within your own experience? For instance Im 0-0, is it possible to get matched with a 9-0 fighter? There seems to be no info anywhere on this. Also. Novice division has only 3, 2 minute rounds. Advice please thanks.

I don't know about the boxing rules in the US but I would not recommend you starting with a big tournament
    like the Golden gloves.

They probably gonna pick you apart at the tournament. Even if you get paired up with a 0-0 fighter I don't think he will have little training time when he attends for the C.G.G

If you are serious about boxing and want a good amateur record for turning pro in the future or for whatever reason I would do some local matches before entering a rather big tournament.
