Punches feel different at different times I train

    Punches feel different at different times I train

    When I hit the heavy bag today,my punches felt weak. I was still making dents in the bag and made my partner bounce all over the place when I hit the bags like normal. But why did my punch feel so weak?

    If I don't eat protein before training,could that cause it? I ate fish and potatoes before training,but usually when I eat bread with cheese on I feel like I hit like Mike Tyson(Exhaggaration but that is what it feels like) Today however I felt like I couldn't crack an egg hitting it with my best left hook.

    you lack hip control, keep repping it up

    fish oils may help long term

      I just thought it was weird because when I ate cheese I felt I was destroying the heavy bag with every hit my punches sounding like gunshots.

      But today although my punches sounded loud and I was smacking the bags around I still felt so weak. maybe I'm having an off day

        Try eating a little bit of clean carbs before you workout, something healthier than cheese and bread. Also don't stuff yourself, just eat enough to fuel your training. Heavy protein intake and eating meat before your workout seems counterproductive. Save that for after you train, to recover. There's a ton of reasons why you could of had an off workout, don't worry about it too much, unless it becomes a regular problem.

            There are many factors that effect your performance in the gym, your diet is just one of the factors. You'll have good days and bad days at the gym. You need to look at it long term, are you making steady progress over weeks and months, not just session to session. Its a marathon not a sprint, don't worry about it you have a ****ty day at the gym, I've had plenty of them.

              U may just need to rest and heal up, thats your body giving u sings thats it needs some resting.

                Your CNS is weak from lack of nutrition, over training, or under sleeping, or a multiple reasons from that list.

                CNS is the most underrated aspect of What athletes should think about, but don't, and its the most important.

                  Instead of focusing on just punches, can not solve that. You must try other body strengthening exercises too, as whole body involves when you exert force for punching.

                    This is good advice. Getting to a place where you're feeling strong and sharp is more attributed to momentum than on a day to day basis. If you're consistently feeling weak, it might be a sign to take a day off. If you're sparring rounds like 4-5 times a week you're probably overdoing it.
