  • How to incorporate weight training to your boxing

How often weight training a week?

Bodybuilding style or more "CrossFit" style?

( Bodybuilding = medium - heavy weights with 1 min break
Crossfit = endurance type of weight training, little to no breaks constant work rate e.g Manny Pacqiao doing 10 min abs straight type) ---> My concerns that I often spend 30-40 mins on just weight training for my whole body

    When to do weight training?
( e.g Directly after your boxing workout; Boxing in the morning and weights in the evening; Separate Days for weight training...)

    Intensity of weight training?

little bit of both never hurt, ive always admired boxing training and done it as a way to exercise before some nagging injuries came in. notice that strength or olympic training worked best since it focuses on technique, speed and power. id do two days of those lifts, and after 2-3 weeks saw subtle changes in how hard i was able to hit the bag.

I was always taught that powerlifting regimens work best. That way you're hitting a lot of muscles at once. Personally I do squats, bench press, deadlifts, shoulder press, pull ups, sit ups, planks, Leg Press and bicep Curls.
