But if you insist on training on your own then you should at least be sparring at a gym regularly. The results will give you feedback on what you are doing well and what you need to work on.

Some gyms don't even charge for that. The one I go to has supervised sparring every Friday and will let almost anyone step in the ring for a few rounds that night, just to give their guys some extra work and let the general public blow off some steam.
It's just extremely hard to budget a coach in right now. The cheapest I've found is $200 a month has for our only 5 sessions of 2 hours. Boxing isn't very big where I'm at and I'm trying to get guys from work to come in the gym with me and spar. I shadow box A LOT and work the heavy bag a lot too. I'm about to post a new thread with my weekly regimen, lemme know what you think

Am I reading correctly that you can get 1 on 1 lessons for $20/hour? The place I go charges like $75. Sometimes it feels like more of a workout than a training session though. I think a cheaper gym needs to open up near me.

I'm older though and its all about staying in shape. Learning to box is just a bonus

I saw the video in your other thread. I'm new myself so I can't comment but I'll throw one up sometime. But not until I get a luchador mask.

It was like 200 a month for a membership and a coach would give me 45 mins every or so unless I pay for lessons.
