    Elbow/Arm soreness

    Hello Everyone!
I'm new to the site so I'll introduce myself first and apologize in advance if I use the wrong category for my threads. I'm Andrew, 25 years old, boxed through high school and had some decent training by some guys who knew a thing or two.
So I have been back in the gym for 5 weeks now and have been training pretty hard. When I'm hitting the bag everything feels great. But when I'm done my arm starts to kill me. They hurt like hell around the elbow joint but I can't pinpoint where the pain actually is. It feels like it could be my bicep or tricep right near the elbow. It's a constant tight soreness feeling like you threw out your arm in baseball. I'll take ibuprofen and after a hour it'll subside (ibuprofen or not matter of fact).
The weirdest part is that I can still throw any punch, shadow box or heavy bag, and it won't hurt any worse or less. It could be my technique but I'm pretty confident it's not. Maybe it's just muscles getting use to working at such a high endurance rate again? Any advice would be great!

    Thanks!!

Sounds like a bit of "tennis elbow", or tendinitis. R.I.C.E. Relax, Ice, Compression, Elevation. Ibuprofen is good as well.

Now can I keep training and just RICE afterwards or can tennis elbow lead to worse injuries?

I did when I had it. Just listen to your body. If you're hurting, take it easy or stop if you have to. It always seemed to act up after a workout or bag session.

Tendons do not respond well to further irritation. They take a long time to heal and you can easily turn a 3 day injury into a 3 month one. Be careful and don't ignore the "rest" part of RICE.
