I fought at 165lbs at 6'5" for 3 1/2 years, from 17-20 years of age. After that I moved up to 178lbs no problem. But it wasn't until I started to lift weights on a consistent basis and increase my overall caloric intake was I able to cross over the 200lb range.
Calories in vs. calories out. If you want to gain weight eat a lot of food. If you want to gain quality muscle and weight you eat right and lift weights incorporated with a perfect balance of body-weight exercises and flexibility and mobility drills.
Don't believe the drama about lifting weights being bad for boxing.

Get yourself in top condition.......weigh in, that's your weight class!

Don't make a big deal about weight classes!!!
Be more concerned about conditioning and knowledge!
